Presentation

Self assessment

After finishing and presenting my children’s book about CRISPR, I gained a deeper understanding of how writing changes depending on the audience and purpose. Presenting the book made me more aware of how tone, word choice, and visuals work together to teach young readers. I learned how to simplify a complex topic like gene editing without losing its meaning. During the presentation, I noticed how important it is to engage the audience—not just through words, but through visuals, characters, and story. Seeing how others responded to the book helped me reflect on what worked well and what I could improve. This experience strengthened my confidence as a writer and communicator. It also showed me that writing can be both educational and creative. Overall, this project helped me grow in adapting my writing to different formats and audiences, and it reminded me that writing can make even the most complex ideas accessible to everyone.
